Sample Web Sites

To follow links, click the left mouse on the desired hypertext field, and release the mouse while holding down the Ctrl key. You can also press F8 on any field. At the bottom of each page in the web sites is a link to return back to this page.

Select from the list to the left to preview the sample sites. Some are geared towards personal home sites, others are geared more towards business. All of them can be modified, however, to fit any kind of need.

You might find it useful when previewing the sample web sites to turn off the Table Grids. This will give you a better feel for how the page will look in a browser. To turn off the Table Grids (temporarily), toggle the option from the View menu.

You can also select one of the site formats as the basic layout for your site, and replace the images used with any of those found in the Web Art Gallery, or you can create your own.

If you decide to use one of the sites, follow the instructions below to make a copy of the site, so that the template can be reviewed and reused in the future.

To Use a Web Site as a Template:

  1. Make a duplicate copy of the folder and its entire contents. You can name it anything you want. We have created a folder named Websites when you installed WebExpress, which acts as a good location under which you can store your own web site folders.

  2. Create a new Web Site file for your web site using the command New Web Site from the File Menu. Give it the URL for your web site on the Internet (instead of www.myweb.com), and the location of the new folder you just created.

  3. The web site will be completely linked up for you, but you'll want to change all the text to fit your purpose. You can add or remove buttons and links. You will probably also want to change the title of each page which remains in your web site to include your title or company name.

To Copy This Page to Your Web Site:

  1. You need to have your web site open before visiting the page you wish to copy

  2. Go to the page you wish to include in your web site..

  3. From the File menu, choose the Copy to Web Site command.

  4. This will copy the page, and all its components to your web site. You will be prompted to name the page, and possibly change the destination folder.
